Starting late in 2015 I was assigned by Technip to lead a world-class new build offshore construction ship with a revolutionary flexible pipelay system. I led the development of the offshore team including building rapport with the owner’s marine crew and establishing the ship’s unique inclusive culture. My team successfully completed the SURF construction scopes on Total’s Moho, Edradour and Kaombo projects. During the summer seasons of 2018, 2019 and 2020 we executed various SURF scopes for clients in the North Sea, these included Equinor, Shell, Neptune and Lundin. Under my leadership the team won company accolades on 3 consecutive years.

On Technip’s premier pipelay asset I was responsible for leading the installation of umbilicals, reeled steel pipelines and steel catenary risers. Significant projects during this period in the Gulf of Mexico being the Walker Ridge Gathering System, a plastic lined water injection pipeline for BP Thunder Horse and the ship’s heaviest SCRs for Exxon on the Jack Saint Malo facility.

I joined Technip’s new asset the Deep Blue in the GOM where early experience included reeled 18” pipe, commissioning the J-lay system and installing the world’s deepest pipelines on Nakika. After 4 years I left the Deep Blue to move around Technip’s fleet gaining exposure to different worksites, regions, and techniques. Innovative projects I supervised ranged from an offshore tow of Hywind (the world’s first floating wind turbine), installing flexible pipes to cap the Deepwater Horizon spill and acting as OCM for the Goliat Templates offshore under ship tow.

I had an offshore rotation with time in the regional offices producing installation procedures for umbilicals, flexible and rigid pipelines with ROV support.

I held various project management roles in heavy civil engineering on EPCI projects.
